Tinubu to hold security talks, commission projects during Katsina visit

President Bola Tinubu will embark on a two-day official visit to Katsina State on Friday as part of ongoing national efforts to strengthen security and boost local development.

The Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, in a statement, said Tinubu is expected to meet with key stakeholders in the state to assess the security situation firsthand.

Katsina, like several other states in Nigeria’s northwest, has been characterized by persistent security challenges in recent years, including banditry and rural violence among others.

The visit underscores Tinubu’s commitment to addressing the root causes of insecurity through engagement, infrastructural development, and collaboration with subnational governments.

While in Katsina, the President will inaugurate the new Katsina Agricultural Mechanized Centre, a flagship project aimed at enhancing food production and modernizing farming practices in the agrarian state.

Tinubu will also commission a 24-kilometre dual carriageway completed under the administration of Governor Dikko Umar Radda.

In a social highlight of the visit, Tinubu will honour an invitation to attend the wedding ceremony of Governor Radda’s daughter.

The President is expected to return to Abuja upon conclusion of the two-day working visit.
