FOR several hours, Isolo area of Lagos State was thrown into frenzy when two employees of Ikeja Distribution Company (IKEDC) were electrocuted while trying to fix electrical problems at Kogberegbe Street. They were feared dead as at press time last night.

The area was immediately thrown into frantic mode as residents gathered in their numbers from afar to gaze up into the sky at the lifeless body of the yet to be identified IKEDC staff.

Matters took a turn for the worse when one of the dead man’s colleagues braved the odds to rescue hm. But the man also got electrocuted.

Confirming the incident, the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), Dolapo Badmus, said Ayoade Aloma died on the spot, while Ilesanmi Oyebode is still at the Isolo General Hospital, battling to stay alive.

According to an eyewitness at the scene, the first man to be electrocuted had been working on the pole for some minutes and was about to descend down the ladder when the unfortunate incident happened.
