The Leader of the National Consultative Front, Professor Pat Utomi, has slammed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for what he described as “shameless” actions over its handling of the recall petition against Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of Kogi Central Senatorial District.
Utomi’s slam comes amidst growing controversy surrounding the ongoing recall petition against Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan.
On Wednesday, INEC confirmed that it had officially notified Senator Natasha about the receipt of a petition seeking her recall.
According to INEC, the petitioners have now provided their contact details, including a mailing address, phone numbers, and email, in compliance with the commission’s guidelines.
In response, Utomi, on X, accused INEC of being “shameless” and labelled the commission’s actions as “evil.”
In a tweet, Utomi wrote, “Trying to understand the character of evil opens one to all kinds of learning. That evil does not know shame is amazing. You would expect that in the face of all that is going on, INEC would, out of shame, even if its ways suggest differently, keep away from a recall of Sen. Natasha when people are calling for a recall of the entire Senate. Evil knows not shame. The Nigeria salvage mission needs a rethink. The Barbarians are clearly not at the gate. They own Main Street.”
