SIR: I am using this medium to express our profound appreciation for your support and concerns as President of the United States. Your intervention and message of hope and peace that people’s wish is respected are historic.

Secretary of State John Kerry’s visit, and your message through him before and throughout the period of the most turbulent electioneering in the history of Nigeria, resonated well and swayed the minds of our leaders.

Your family and the good people of America’s commitment to the enthronement of democracy, peace and tranquility not only in Nigeria, but also in the world is appreciated.

Thanks to your wife for the beautiful missive she also wrote to my daughter in my daughter’s initiated appreciation letter to her in her efforts at “bringing back our girls” campaigns.

There is no doubt that the coming years will cement good relationship and partnership between Nigeria and the United States. It will renew Nigeria and the U.S. economic frontiers in the new world order. Our current euphoria is a new Nigeria. Our votes counted for the first time.

Nigerian leaders were subsumed and heeded your advice and other world leaders’ goodwill at crucial hours in our nation’s history. The outcome of the elections has not only started to build psychological bridges, it is also giving every Nigerian Diaspora sense of belonging to build a new United Nigeria.

Your congratulatory and conciliatory message after the elections to the two political gladiators in Nigeria is also sterling, laced with hope and unity for our dear country.

We look forward to your official visit as President of the United States to our dear country before the end of your tenure. Again, thank you and thanks to the good people of the United States who stood by us, and also their beliefs in the Nigerian exceptionalism as a strategic nation in Africa and the world at large.
