Powered by El-Berachah Worship Ministry for Celestial Church of Christ, a non-governmental organisation with a vision to take worship to places, create an inter-faith and non-denominational platform through collaborations as well as organise medical outreaches
This year’s concert, which is the fourth edition, will feature leading gospel artistes including Evangelist Adelakun Ayewa of Amono Tetewa fame, Samson Adekanmbi (Sammy P), Kenny Kore, Deborah Lawal popularly known as Kayefi, Sola Allyson Obaniyi, Michael Harjovy, Tunde Ara, and gospel rap sensation Engo as well as the 400-man mass Central Choir of the Celestial Church of Christ coordinated by Dr. Wole Adetiran, formerly of the Music Department, The Polytechnic Ibadan.
The worship concert according to the convener, Mr. Gbenga Daniel-Adebayo, seeks to create a medium to promote worship, God’s word, and intercede via praises for the nation.
Speaking to newsmen ahead of the event, he noted that the vision for the concert is anchored on engineering a paradigm shift in the body of Christ. He pointed out that the theme is a testimony on applying the instrumentality of praise as a weapon for victory.
“Despite the challenges face daily as a nation, we still have more than enough to be thankful for. It is therefore important that we raise the volume of our praise and worship. Therefore, Luli Concert is an inter-denominational platform where we can worship without the barriers of creed, tongue or tribe,” he said.
Daniel-Adebayo, also explained that as part of the activities for this year’s concert, a music masters class has been packaged by the team for music enthusiasts and professionals and would hold on Wednesday, September 19, at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere and it will be facilitated by award-winning music producer ID Cabasa, Dr. Olaosebikan Rotimi, Sola Allyson and Mr Wols.
Meanwhile, a community walk is also being organised to promote physical and mental wellbeing. The 4km walk, which will take place in Lagos Island, will hold on Saturday, September 21 by 9 am, and the take-off point will be at the Tafawa Balewa Square through Moloney, Sura, Olowu and back to Catholic Mission Street.
“There will also a 2-day medical outreach at the Tafawa Balewa Square on Thursday 26 and Friday 27, to provide free primary health services as part of our community outreach initiative,” Daniel-Adebayo, stated.
