The Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Lagos State Council, has honoured members of the society for their outstanding contribution to the group.The Council Chairman, Alhaji Abdurahman Olabode Salaudeen, who spoke at the 14th edition of the merit award ceremony in Lagos, said the award was in recognition of the awarde’’s outstanding contributions and selfless service to society, Islam and the nation.
According to him, the ceremony marks a special occasion for all of us as it allows us to acknowledge the outstanding efforts of our awardees and applaud their contributions. “Each awardee should be proud of their accomplishment and the impacts they have made in society and the world around them. Your passion, dedication and unwavering commitment to society are an inspiration to us all and what we hope to replicate in all that we do in your respective endeavours. May your hard work and dedication continue to be recognised, appreciated and rewarded.”
Salaudeen noted that the financial obligations and commitment of the council are made possible through unwavering support of the gathering and urged people to donate generously. “Lagos State Council of the society often utilises the proceeds realised from the occasion such as this to execute its obligations. I must bring your attention to the fact that propagation of Islam requires a huge amount of money to maintain and sustain and I believe it is the responsibility of all Muslim ummah to venture into spreading the gospel and tentacle of Islam.”
While expressing happiness over the honour, an awardee, the former legal adviser to Ansar-ud-deen Society, as well as a former Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Lagos State, Adeniji Kazeem, appreciated the society for finding him worthy of the award. He said: “I have been involved in different capacities, including the return of schools held by Lagos State Government. I have served on the Ansar-ud-deen school board, as Chairman Triennial Committee and also contributed at the national level.”
