GFN hosts Maiden Annual Conference

The first annual conference of the Gospel Filmmaking Network with the theme, An excellence spirit, was held between November 8 and 9, 2024. The two-day conference, according to the Director General of the association, Evangelist Kayode Babalola is part of efforts by the group to transform lives and illuminate hearts with the light of Christ through the power of film.

He disclosed that during the conference there will be seminars training, workshops and film screening as well as induction of new members. Babalola was optimistic that the impact of the conference would be great in the days ahead for the gospel film industry.

“Our mission is clear: to equip, empower, and uplift every crew member involved in gospel filmmaking. We aim to provide comprehensive training, mentorship, and resources that will enhance the skills and capabilities of our members. Through workshops, masterclasses, and hands-on practical sessions, we are creating a thriving ecosystem where knowledge is exchanged, talents are refined, and a new generation of creatives rises to the challenge of impactful filmmaking.”

On his part, the Chairman, Board of Trustees of GFN, Evangelist Mike Bamiloye, said that the group has a long history of vision. Bamiloye, whose speech was read by his vice, Rev David Okeowo, said that the vision of establishing the association was first birthed 20 years ago in Ibadan, though it was formally inaugurated on July 7, 2024 as GFN.

“The Gospel Filmmaking Network is a professional association that brings together gospel film production crew members. These are gospel film workers who labour behind the camera in the production of gospel movies.” He added that drama ministry professionals who desire to join the association are welcome to register.
