Foodbay TV has partnered with the Lagos State government for the fifth edition of Street Foodz Naija.
Chef Tolani of Diary of a Kitchen Lover, Chinonso Egemba popularly known as Aproko Doctor will be the judge of this season while Enioluwa Adeoluwa will host the show. The winner for this season will go home with N10 million and other prizes.
Over the years, the platform has celebrated chefs such as King Glab, Lakrim who have moved from operating in a corner to establishing centres across the country and employing hundreds of staff.
The heart of Street Foodz Naija lies in the diverse and inspiring stories of contestants. Each participant brings a unique narrative to the table, often rooted in deep personal connections to street food.
In addition to the grand prize, 14 contestants will receive scholarships from the Hospitality Business School (HBS), SME toolkit, and other valuable consolation prizes.
Speaking during the unveiling of the show, Co-Founder, FoodBay TV and creator of Street Foodz Naija, Femi Ogundoro, said Street Foodz Naija is not just a television show but also a vibrant celebration of Nigeria’s rich street food culture and a powerful platform for empowering local talent.
“This year’s theme; Love and Street Food, encapsulates the profound connection between culinary traditions and human relationships. Street food, in its essence, is a communal experience, it brings people together, fosters a sense of belonging, and creates shared memories.”
This season is supported by Golden Penny, FCMB, Tiger Beer, Calipso, Maltina, Hospitality Business School (HBS), and Prisms Healthcare.
Speaking also, Director, Youth Development, Ministry Of Youth And Social Development, Saka Abdul-Lateef, said: “The business of youth development cannot be left in the hands of the government alone, that is why Lagos State government via the ministry is partnering with maxima media group to develop the entrepreneurship perspective of young people who are into street food businesses.”
