With a vision to revolutionise the Nigerian gaming platform, Waxibet has announced its entry into the market.

The company, which said it launched after carefully carrying out its market survey, promised to harness better user experiences that will make betting easier and a lot more rewarding for users.

Founded in 2021, Waxibet offers a variety of online games for its end users. The company, through its head of business development, Francis Ifie, revealed that it recently added betting opportunities for the reality TV show, Big Brother NAIJA, where users make predictions and stand a chance to win. At the launch in Victoria Island, Lagos, the Director of Waxibet, Dr. Fred Igbenedion said: “This is indeed a special occasion because after carefully studying the various technological gaps in the Nigerian sports betting market, our entire team embarked on a journey that took several months of hard work and dedication to bridge the gaps that we saw in the industry, especially as they relate to proper service delivery to customers and durability.

“We want to change the way sports catalogers approach betting in general by harnessing the user experience and making the entire process a lot more fun, exciting and rewarding. I am now very confident that our product can achieve this goal that we set out to achieve a few months ago.”

The Director General of National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC), Lanre Gbajabiamila, promised the firm complete support from the body as long as it complies with the rules of the government agency. He advised that challenges should be communicated to the commission upfront and not the commission finding out by itself.

On the platform being part of a plan by the company to give back to society, Ifie said: “We are looking at giving back to the society primarily by supporting grassroots sporting events.  Virtual Reality

“Nigeria is a country with talents. We see this in how people predict sports matches as well. We are one of the smartest when it comes to predicting as was shown in one of the reports that were put out a few months ago. It shows that a lot of Nigerians are becoming smarter by the day. So, what we are trying to do now is to showcase these talents.

“We are giving back to society through offering bonuses to grassroots players. For instance, for people who have forecasted the trickiest games, we have a price category so that they are all involved in whatever they do on our site as well. We sponsor grassroots events, we engage a lot with all the people that use our platform through offering prices and gifts. I think as we continue to grow as a business, we can put our hands on a lot of more things to further give back to the society”.
