Afrobeats superstar, David Adedeji Adeleke Jnr., better known as Davido, has finally spoken out on his highly publicised feud with fellow artiste, Tiwatope Savage, known popularly as Tiwa Savage.

The controversy has been brewing for weeks, with fans and followers eagerly awaiting a statement from the Fall hitmaker. In a surprising turn of events, the self-professed ‘Omo Baba Olowo’ (O.B.O) addressed the long-standing feud with fellow artist Tiwa Savage.

In his latest interview with ‘The Breakfast Club’, the Assurance crooner addressed the issue for the first time, thus, eliciting a new wave of reactions and discussions across social media platforms.

Dismissing any notion of serious conflict between the two of them Davido described their past disagreements as minor and likened their bond to that of siblings. “Me and Tiwa used to stay in the same house. It was like brothers and sisters arguing. It was nothing,” he said.

In January 2024, Tiwa Savage wrote a letter to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, revealing that she had received a message from Davido regarding her recent post of her at a party with Sophia Momodu, the mother of Davido’s first daughter.

The Kele Kele Love crooner further stated that Davido felt mocked by the post and later issued a warning through mutual connections, advising her to “be careful in Lagos.”

This revelation surfaced just days after the two singers unfollowed each other on Instagram. Davido also revealed that they have not met since the incident but Tiwa Savage did reach out to him and if the link-up happens in future, it happens.

The global music sensation also opened up about the harsh criticism and backlash he has faced throughout his career, describing himself as the “most bashed and disrespected” artiste in the Nigerian music history.

During the interview, the DMW boss reflected on the toll online trolling can take, not just on him but also on artistes signed under his label. He stated that negative comments on social media often affect his signees, but he always advises them not to pay attention to online trolls.

“I think in the history of Nigeria, I am the most bashed and disrespected artist. In Nigeria, if you are the son of a successful man, you gonna get it,” he added.

Notwithstanding the criticisms, the multiple award winning artiste has continued to rise as one of Africa’s most celebrated music exports, maintaining resilience and inspiring many with his success story
