Today, to many, another land that flows with milk, and honey is the United States of America. Many years before now, the land was not so, as it’s characterized by struggles, and slavery, especially for the black race. The story of America is one with triumph, and tragedy. The quest for freedom became the order of the day. This became more wavy with Abraham Lincoln’s emancipation proclamation in 1865, and the rigidity afterwards. The American civil war, too isn’t a tale to be told as it’s of all bad.
A century had passed, yet, freedom is still distant in this great land. Martin Luther King Jr was instrumental to the Civil Rights of the 1950s and 1960s which sole aim was to make everyone free as promised. He stood tall before the Lincoln memorial to deliver his famous “I Have a Dream” speech that tore the marrows of every human who heard it, and even those who read it. Symbolically, with all cries, tears, and blood, the statue of liberty that was gifted by France in 1886 stands not as a beacon of hope, but a totem of shrewd.

Those were those years, as now, the land keeps flourishing and serving as the abode to many races, giving succour and handles of fulfillment to those who believe. The American Dream is eminent, and it’s today, valid. Like a withered flower that smells the scent of water, the dream, deepened in the process of independence became unfurled. Thomas Jefferson, in 1776 prophesied, saying, “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.”
In the pursuit this happiness, many races, and humans of kinds, take a leap of faith to this land, and their stories have been of warmth, comfort, and happiness. Among the men who took this step of emigrating to the U.S.A. is Kehinde Thomas. Kehinde Thomas’s story is one of defying the odds, a journey that embodies the essence of the American Dream. Drawing on the same resilience that carried him through his youth, he pivoted to education, earning a second degree in Business Communications after completing a Philosophy degree at Duquesne University. With a newfound sense of purpose, Kehinde set his sights on business and leadership, fields where he could make a lasting impact. His efforts didn’t go unnoticed, and his accomplishments were recognized with numerous honorary doctorates.
Kehinde’s journey didn’t stop with personal success. He became a mentor and advocate for the next generation, using his story to inspire others.
