10th Nass: Aminu Sani Jaji for speakership

With the expiration of the 9th Assembly, the need becomes imperative for the incoming 10th Assembly to elect a new speaker for the house of representatives.

With the sterling performance of the outgoing speaker of the house, Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila, it becomes highly imperative for the house of representatives to elect a new speaker who will not only build on the successes of the 9th assembled by Hon.Femi Gbajabiamila, but one who will compliment the Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu led administration to fulfil its electoral promises to all Nigerians.

Hon. OAminu Sani Jaji, federal lawmaker, representing Kaura Namoda/Birnin Magaji Federal Constituency of Zamfara State, is one of the best lawmakers to have traversed the hallowed chambers of the House of Representatives since 1999.

His trajectory in the house shows a thorough bred grassroots politician and excellent administrator who has all it takes to lead the Green Chamber.

Hon. Jaji’s work as a member of Congress had a profound effect on the quality of life for his constituents. Some previously rural settlements in the Kaura Namoda/Birnin Magaji Federal Constituency were transformed into micro towns thanks to the Constituency Development Projects he attracted on his own. With his own money, he also constructed schools, mosques, hospitals, and other public facilities over the entirety of Zamfara State. Even after he left the Congress, he didn’t stop making these motions.

Between 2015 and 2019, Jaji was a member of the House, and throughout that time, he did a great job of expressing the trust his constituents had in him. The House Committee on National Security, Intelligence, and Public Safety was led by him. He was active in debates and discussions on the House Floor during the four years he served on various committees, sponsored a large number of bills, and made a great number of motions.

Even after assuming his first stewardship in the House of Representatives, Hon. Jaji continued to provide annual scholarships to students in his federal district and throughout the entire Zamfara State. While taking care of the needs of the less fortunate in his constituency and beyond, he has been able to arrange work for hundreds of unemployed kids. He organized and carried out a number of skill-acquisition training programs, and he helped many young people and women around the state launch enterprises.

Hon. Jaji aspired to the Governorship of Zamfara State under the APC in 2019 because he wanted to serve his state at a much higher level. Notwithstanding his failure, he remained a committed member of the party and made significant contributions to the reconciliation of party faithfuls and the expansion of the party at both the state and national levels.

Hon. Jajij was appointed Director of Contact and Mobilization for the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Organization in recognition of his significant contributions to the APC. He is currently the National Coordinator of the well-known political organization Baba for All. With branches and physical presence in all 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory, the organisation has crossed the length and breadth of Nigeria, reaching out to the destitute and troubled people regardless of religion, political affiliation, or ethnicity (FCT). The goal of Baba for All, according to Hon. Jaji, is to give hope to people who are displaced, particularly those in various Internally Displaced Persons’ (IDPs) Camps.

In 2021, the Baba for All organization donated more than 500 trucks’ worth of food and other supplies, including cereals like rice, millet, guinea corn, maize, and more. In 2022 alone, it promised to provide 700 trucks’ worth of food and other supplies.

During the 2023 electioneering campaign, Rt. Hon. Jaji gave away vehicles, motorcycles, and other empowerment equipment to people of all political persuasions and faiths in Zamfara State, not just APC supporters.

With the overriding goal of leading an inclusive House where national unity, peace, and development will take center stage, Hon. Jaji enters the race for the Speakership of the House of Representatives. Without compromising the independence of the Legislature, his goal is to secure enduring cooperation among honorable members and set the road for a mutually respectful relationship with the Executive. His administration will work to uphold the Rule of Law and adhere to the world’s best democratic norms.

There is no question about Rt. Hon. Jaji’s legislative and executive experience. If given the chance to serve, he has all he needs to succeed. He has been tried, examined, and verified. Rt. Hon. Jaji is hoped to become the new Speaker of the 10th House of Representatives. He is a true pan-Nigerian and a great unifier, a man of inestimable moral rectitude, a trailblazer, and a man of excellence.
