AMU honours Benjamin Oyemonlan with doctorate in financial technology, leadership
American Management University (AMU) has conferred a doctorate in Financial Technology and Leadership on renowned entrepreneur, fintech innovator, and Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Youth Ambassador,
Benjamin Oyemonlan.
The prestigious recognition underscores Oyemonlan’s groundbreaking contributions to the fintech industry and his dedication to youth empowerment and leadership development.
The award highlights his transformative work at Platnova and Zap Exchange, where he has driven advancements in financial inclusion and technological innovation. Both platforms have redefined how millions access financial services, solidifying his reputation as a pioneer in the global fintech ecosystem.
Speaking on the honour, Oyemonlan described the recognition as a testament to the power of fintech in shaping lives and economies. “This doctorate represents a shared recognition of the transformative power of financial technology in shaping lives and economies. I am inspired to continue this journey of innovation, empowerment, and global impact,” he said.
Under Oyemonlan’s leadership, Platnova has emerged as a trailblazer in the digital payments space, offering services such as virtual cards and cryptocurrency transactions to more than 100,000 users. Similarly, Zap Exchange has accelerated cryptocurrency adoption across Africa by providing secure, user-friendly platforms that connect millions to the global financial system.
Beyond his entrepreneurial success, Oyemonlan has leveraged his role as an ECOWAS Youth Ambassador to advocate for economic growth, digital transformation, and the empowerment of young leaders across West Africa. His efforts have cemented his status as a key figure in fostering innovation and driving positive change throughout the region.
