A prominent stakeholder and frontline youth Ambassador in Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State, Chief Asonja Idowu has registered his ink of appreciation to the President Muhammadu Buhari-led Federal Government for finding worthy one of our sons who has been at the forefront of the struggle and emancipation of the Niger Delta, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, aka Tompolo for the award of the pipeline security surveillance contract.

The Ilaje born icon of peace and development of the land gave this note of appreciation while reacting to the award of multi-billion naira pipeline surveillance contract to a former leader of the Movement for the Emancipation of Niger Delta, High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, said the Federal Government took the right decision.

“While congratulating our leader, High Chief Government Oweizide Ekpemupolo, I find it auspiciously graceful to show our profound gratitude to Mr. President for making the right decision. The choice of High Chief Oweizide is never an aberration as he is indeed the proverbial round peg in the round hole”

However, Chief Asonja reiterated the trust of the people of Niger Delta in the leadership capacity of leader Tompolo as he will ensure that employment opportunities shall be created for the unemployed youth and other relevant stakeholders will be carried along in the process.

“We trust the capacity of General Government Tompolo in ensuring our youth and communities are well taken care of in terms of employment and provision of some social welfare packages to the people.

The great people of Ilaje Nation of Ondo State and beyond are solidly behind him and we shall join hands with him to succeed.”

“I cannot but eulogize the sense of bravery and unbiased stance displayed by the duo of Mr. Mele Kyari, the chief executive officer of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited and the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, H.E. Chief Timipre Marlin Sylva for awarding the contact to the company that met the criteria of the bidding processes.

You have weighed many options and came to the conclusion that a private firm well rooted in the surveillance of our nation’s pipelines should get the award. That is a pragmatic and result-targeted leadership style”, he concluded.
