Super Eagles’ Acting Coach, Daniel Amokachi, has recalled Brown Ideye and Anthony Ujah to the senior national team for the friendlies against Bolivia and South Africa on March 26 and 29 respectively.

Ideye and Ujah last played for Nigeria at the FIFA Confederations Cup, where Nigeria failed to make the semifinal finals owing to poor marksmanship and insipid defending.
Since the Brazil 2013 FIFA Confederations Cup, Ideye has only played one game, a friendly against Italy, while Ujah has not had a look in up till now.

Their inclusion in the 27-man team is not unconnected with their recent form, which has seen Ideye in inspirational form for West Brom and Ujah playing pivotal role for Bundesliga’s FC Cologne.

Also back to the team is Watford striker, Odion Ighalo, who has scored 17 goals in the English Championship, but injured Chelsea midfielder, John Obi Mikel, is also out of the matches.

Home-based Chigozie Agbim and Gbolahan Salami are some of the regulars also omitted from the squad.
In the team are some of the usual suspects, including Skipper Vincent Enyeama, who is a game short of his 100 caps.
There are 18 overseas-based and 10 home-based professionals on the list, with former junior international, Akeem Latifu and Enyimba duo, Kingsley Sokari and Mfon Udoh also called.

Amokachi has obliged a special request by injured Victor Moses, one of the stars of Nigeria’s triumph at the 2013 Africa Cup of Nations, to be listed as the Stoke City star believes he will recover before the two bouts.
The players are expected to report at the Le Meridien Hotel, Uyo on March 23 for the March 26 clash with Bolivia, with the squad heading to South Africa on Friday, March 27 for the battle with the Bafana Bafana in Nelspruit on Sunday, March 29.
