Speaking at Game Rush’s 2025 events calendar announcement, highlighting major sporting spectacles, entertainment experiences, and fan engagement initiatives that will redefine the industry, the organisers said that “Chaos in the Ring,” a high-energy combat sports action event, will hold on April 18, October 1, and December 26, 2025, while “Friday Fight Nights” will hold monthly on February 28, June 27, July 25, and August 29, 2025, showcasing top-tier talent.
Additionally, football viewing events, tagged the ultimate experience for football fans, will feature the Carabao Cup final, FA Cup final, UEFA Champions League final, and AFCON.
The February 28 fight card will feature Adebayo Basit versus Segun Gbobaniyi in a 10 by three-minute rounds national lightweight title fight; Kadima Stephen versus Sunday Ajuwa, who will fight in an eight rounds of minutes each national cruiserweight challenge; Yusuf Adeniji versus Babatunde Oniin a national super bantamweight challenge; Idowu Okusote versus Muritador Monyasahu in a national cruiserweight challenge; and Rilwan Lawal versus Taofeek Ganiyu, who will fight in a national featherweight challenge. Also listed for the night is a national cruiserweight challenge featuring Abiodun Adesoji Adeniyi against Fatai Balogun.
Speaking at the event, Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of Balmoral Group, Dr. Ezekiel Adamu, said the event is poised to transform sports activities, providing a platform for Nigerian boxers to showcase their skills and compete at the international level.
According to him, it is essential to create a sustainable boxing ecosystem that fosters talent development, entertainment, and economic growth, adding that it’s a means of ‘sportainment.’
On his part, president of the Nigerian Boxing Board of Control (NBBofC) and Nigeria Football Supporters Club, Dr. Rafiu Oladipo, urged the government to create an enabling environment for professional boxing to thrive in the country.
