Ekiti Badminton team to participate in 3-day tournament in Ibadan

The Ekiti Badminton Association on Wednesday said that eight of its players would participat in a three-day tournament from April 21 to April 24 in Ibadan.

The Secretary of the association, Mr Ayodeji Olowolafe, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ado-Ekiti that the tournament was sponsored by Gemiga Trust.

The trust is a U.K.-based charitable organisation founded in 2010 to encourage and improve badminton in Nigeria, he said.

He added that six states were invited to participate in the tournament which would hold at the Lekan Salami Stadium, Ibadan.

He said the invited states – Osun, Ogun, Lagos, Oyo, Ondo and Ekiti — would come with two coaches and were expected to arrive on April 21 for registration and briefing.

The secretary said that adequate accommodation and substantial allowance would be provided for the duration of the tournament.
