Nigeria’s junior national football team the Flying Eagles will know their opponents in the 2025 WAFU B Cup of Nations when the draws hold today in Abidjan.
The seven participating countries in the tournament are the hosts, Ghana, Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Niger, Nigeria and Togo.This tournament is a major event for West African youth, providing a vibrant and competitive sporting atmosphere for the zone.
The 2025 WAFU B U-20 Cup of Nations is scheduled to hold in Accra, from July 10 to 23, 2025.Originally scheduled for mid-June in Prampram, Ghana, the regional showpiece was rescheduled to hold in Accra from July 10 to 23, 2025.
The WAFU B Secretariat said the adjustment was necessary to allow for better coordination following disruptions to the U-20 competitions in both WAFU A and B zones.
“The new period has been selected to ensure the smooth running of the competition,” a statement from the Ghana FA reads, “and to provide the best possible experience for all seven of our Member Associations.”

The Flying Eagles went on to clinch the bronze medal at the continental championship earlier this year. The WAFU championship provides the opportunity for the Flying Eagles to continue their preparation for the World Cup, in Chile with tough games and also retain their regional crown.
