Iwobi, Sokari, 19 others in Siasia’s squad for Gabon

ARSENAL’S Alex Iwobi and Enyimba’s Kingsley Sokari top the list of players Coach Samson Siasia has listed for this weekend’s All Africa Games qualifier against Gabon in Libreville. But there is no room for former Under-20 star, Gero Abdullahi, in the 21 –man list released by the U-23 national team head coach.

   Others, who failed to make the team are Aminu Umar, who arrived late to camp and Warri Wolves’ forward, Freedom Omofonma, who also arrived camp late after his club’s CAF Confederation Cup game in Burkina Faso.

  The 16 home boys and five overseas- based professionals are expected to depart the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos this evening for Gabon aboard an Ethiopia Airline flight.

 In the team are goalkeepers Daniel Emmanuel and Akande Abiodun.

  The defenders are Obanor Erhun, Okorom Stanley, Oduduwa Segun, Sani Faisal, Sincere Seth and Atanda Sodiq, while the midfielders are Azubuike Okechukwu, Godwin Savior, Tiongoli Tonbara, Saliu Popoola, Oshobe Oladele, Mohammed Usman and Sokari.

The strikers in the team are Etebo Oghenekaro, Ajayi Junior, Peter Onyekachi,‎ Iwobi and Paul Onwuachu.
