Lagos to organise coaching clinic on softball, baseball
LAGOS State Softball and Baseball Association is set to arrange a three-day yearly training course for umpires and scorers, school games masters and those interested in the game in Lagos State.
The workshop, which is part of the tasks of the association to develop the game of softball and baseball in Lagos secondary schools, will welcome about 100 participants where new rules and techniques would be taught by experts. The clinic is scheduled to hold between tomorrow March 4 and 6 at the Lagos State Sports Council, Rowe Park, Yaba
Lagos State chairman of the association, Onyeka Onuorah, said the body would make sure that more schools in Lagos are encouraged to accept the game.
“I and other members of the association are working assiduously to make sure that more schools in Lagos State embrace the sports,” she said.
In order to accomplish the vision, Mrs. Onuorah said: “We are going to work with private sectors, our former players and some of our foreign-based players who are willing to support our efforts financially through donations of kits.”
