NFF needs technical assistance to get quality coach for Eagles, says Onigbinde
FORMER Super Eagles coach, Adegboye Onigbinde, has called on the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) to seek professional assistance from outside the Glass House in its search for a credible coach for the Super Eagles.
The CAF and FIFA technical instructor stated that the transformation process of the senior national team would not yield any positive result if a well-tailored programme were not put in place to correct the anomalies affecting the team.
Onigbinde sees the NFF’s delay in resolving the Eagles’ coach issue as a sign that the federation was yet to decide the future of the team four months after Nigeria’s failure to qualify for the ongoing African Nations Cup. He advised the NFF to go out of their comfort zone to seek professional advice on how to revamp the Eagles, saying that the delay was capable of further jeopardizing the future of Nigerian football.
He implored the NFF to avoid sentiments when taking decisions on the Eagles, adding that any pronouncement made now would make or mar the team’s future.
“The way football is administered in this country does not go down well with me. After the Eagles failed to qualify for the Nations Cup, the NFF would have immediately resolved the issue of who will manage the Eagles.”
