Oliseh’s team building should begin with CHAN, says Odiaka

OlisehFormer Super Eagles striker, Monday Odiaka, believes the African Nations Championship (CHAN) due to commence in Rwanda on January 16 presents Super Eagles’ Coach, Sunday Oliseh, a good opportunity to gauge the quality of players available to him in the national team rebuilding process.

Saying that the Home-based players should excel at the championship owing to the level of preparation given to the team by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Odiaka said playing in CHAN will enhance the players’ chances of being in the main Super Eagles squad.

Stressing that the championship, coming just two months before Nigeria’s double header against Egypt in the Gabon 2017 African Nations Cup qualifying series, Odiaka tasks Oliseh to build his team around some of the outstanding stars in his CHAN squad.

“The CHAN is an opportunity to see the technical ability of Coach Oliseh. This team has all it takes to win CHAN and excelling in the competition will bring back the respect to the Super Eagles.

“Nigeria has a tough African Nations Cup qualifier against Egypt later in the year and I believe the Super Eagles coaches should also use the CHAN to prepare for the game.”
