the super falconsNIGERIA will begin their final preparation for the Canada 2015 FIFA Women World in Toronto on May 19, officials of the team have said. The pre-World Cup training tour,  Super Falcons’ Media Officer, Grace Akujobi told AfricanFootball.com, will see the team training in Toronto for some weeks before they move to their match venue in Winnipeg.

Nigeria are drawn with United States of America, Sweden and Australia in the first round of the 2015 World Cup, which kicks off on June 6. Before then, the team are preparing for a 2016 Olympic qualifier against Mali at home on May 9.

Incidentally, the African champions trounced their Malian counterparts 9-1 on aggregate to qualify for the football event of the 2015 All Africa Games in Congo-Brazzaville. Meanwhile, Nigeria Football Federation’s (NFF) Chairman, technical committee, Felix Anyansi-Agwu has assured the team they will get the best preparation ahead of the World Cup.

Speaking during a visit to the team in Abuja, Anyansi said the ladies deserved special commendation and maximum support to do more for the country. “I want to assure you that you will be given the same preparation and attention accorded other national teams, including the Super Eagles.

I know your problems and we shall address them. I believe you deserve everything that will make you succeed because your success is our success. There should be no difference between the Super Eagles and the Super Falcons; they are our senior national teams,” he was quoted on thenff.com.

“Preparing this team adequately for the task ahead will be our number one priority and we shall give you the kind of preparation you have never experienced before to underline our resolve to ensure that you do well at the World Cup and I am sure you will not fail the nation,” Anyansi added.

He also urged the ladies to make names for themselves by qualifying from their group, adjudged to be the group of death at the World Cup, adding that playing against USA, Sweden and Australia is not a big deal because there will only be 11 players on each side.
