Be of good character worthy of emulation, cleric tells outgoing students

The Very Revd. (Dr.) Olufisayo Temitayo Aribaba has urged Nigerian students to be of good character and worthy of emulation. He said they should endeavour to inspire others wherever they find themselves, adding that they are leaders in the offing.

Aribaba, who is also a Consultant Ophthalmologist/Associate Professor of Opthalmology, College of Medicine, University of Lagos, Idi-Araba, Lagos, enjoined them to harness their leadership qualities, stating that as change agents they are capable of changing whatever situation they find unfit and also to positively impact their communities and make the society a better place for all live in.

He admonished the students to shun friends and schoolmates that can influence them to do evil things either in the school and society at large.

Aribaba, who spoke at the 2022 Session and Prize-giving event of the Olive House Academy, Orimerunmu, Ogun State, to mark the school’s 2021-2022 academic year, counseled the students to be closer to God, which according to him, would help them to achieve great success in life and hereafter.

As Chairman of the occasion, the cleric also used the opportunity to plead with parents, guardians and caregivers to be a good example worthy for the student to emulate and attain great heights in life.

Aribaba called on the Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) to resolve the lingering ASUU strike so that students in tertiary institutions could go back to school.

Speaking on behalf of other outgoing students, the immediate past Male Senior Prefect, Adeyemi Samuel, and immediate past Female Senior Prefect, Happiness Ayanlowo, commended the school for its immense contribution to their academic and moral education.
