ArtHouse:Group Announces First Annual Global Mentoring Event

An international non-profit charity organization, Globally Igniting Africa (GIA), based in the United Sates of America with active representation in the U.K., Canada, UAE, Ireland, Nigeria, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and South Africa has announced the first annual global mentoring event, Fashion Empowers which will take place in Lagos form October 29 and 30.

GIA-kkAn international non-profit charity organization, Globally Igniting Africa (GIA), based in the United Sates of America with active representation in the U.K., Canada, UAE, Ireland, Nigeria, Tanzania, Zimbabwe and South Africa has announced the first annual global mentoring event, Fashion Empowers which will take place in Lagos form October 29 and 30.

The purpose of GIA Fashion Empowers is to lead, mentor, coach, sponsor, engage and support young girls and women in turning passion to profit thereby drive social change. GIA is committed to encouraging artists in fashion design, makeup, movie and music to help lead them through workshops, mentoring, coaching, sponsoring and by building self-sufficient and sustaining communities; supporting community focused programmes and causes that serve the overlooked needs of young girls and women.

Fashion Empowers will select young girls and women between the ages of 16 to 55 whose purpose, passion and calling is to begin or continue a journey into the arts and fashion world. This year the GIA board will select their Global Winner as their first 2015 beneficiary. In addition, they have established a $5000 grant under The BHS Scholarship Fund to support the 2015 winner.

The two-day event will begin with Defining My Passion and Path (Understand how to find your calling and owning it) at 11am till 2pm and will continue with turning My Passion to Profits (Learn how to turn your hobby into a money making machine while still loving what you do) from 2:30pm to 5:30 pm. The final event for the day will continue from 6pm and end at 8.30pm. It will be an evening of mentoring and Meeting the Trailblazers (a session with the best designers in the business).

The final day of the event begins at 10am to12pm with the Meet the Artist – Stacey Okparavero; red carpet will begin at 5pm to 7pm and the show will culminate with networking, cocktails, entertainment and awards at 10:30pm.
