Day of joy, celebration at Ocean Crest School

It wasn’t just the usual celebration of Christmas for pupils, staff and management of Ocean Crest School, Lekki, last month, when the school celebrated the Yuletide and end of the year.

Aside providing a platform for parents, staff and friends of the school to interact and make merry, the occasion also offered the opportunity for the pupils and their teachers to exhibit the fun and creative aspect of their persons.

The students were in a high spirit, as they delighted guests with a well-choreographed presentation of a Christmas drama, titled: ‘Behold Your King.’

Dressed in colourful and fitting costumes, the children delivered the play, depicting the birth of the Lord Jesus, in an uncommon manner, proving they had properly rehearsed and were well prepared for the event.

Although the drama was the main event, in recognition and celebration of the Season, there were other activities packaged to entertain guests at the well-attended programme.

Parents and well-wishers were treated to sonorous rendition of songs. There were also cultural dances, choreography and recitation of poems.

Excited parents and other guests could not help but join in the fun, as they joined their children to sing and dance to nice Christmas songs.

It was indeed an improvement on last year’s performance, as it was obvious that the children and their teachers had taken a lot of trouble and had gone the extra mile to set the tone, as well as put everyone in the right spirit for the season.

By the time it was over, guests had had a beautiful and youthful version of what Christmas is all about, and without doubt, many would be looking forward to the following year’s performance.
