Job 14:13-14: “O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me! 14: If a man die, shall he live again? All the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.”
Right from the time of creation, God has been in the business of speaking to His people for good. He started coming down to fellowship with Adam and Eve our first parents in the Garden of Eden. As long as they were obedient to His words, living their lives in accordance with His plan and purpose for them, He continued to speak to them mouth to mouth for regular blessings and direction. It was unfortunate Adam did not go back to God prayerfully when the trial and temptation came, but succumbed to it and subjected himself to the bondage of sin and of the devil. It was as a result of disobediencethat God turned His face away from Adam and even to the extent of their ejection from the Garden of Eden.
God spoke to our father, Abraham, with clear instruction to leave his father’s house, his people and country to a place He, God, would show him. Abraham’s obedience to this directive, his continued faith and total dependence on God made God to declare him, His friend and for future blessings till he died. All through his lifetime, Abraham was patient, obedient and prayerful to God. He did not deviate from serving God. His faith in God his creator paid off. God addressed him as a friend, made his descendants a tribe of priestsand God’s own people even till today.
Again, God spoke to Moses through the burning bush, directing him to go to Pharaoh, King of Egypt, and demand for the release of the Israelites who were then slaves in Egypt. Despite delays from Pharaoh, Moses persistently and prayerfully held unto the word of God, going to Pharaoh on regular basis until the request was grantedand children of Israelites were released.
The Bible is awash with cases of God speaking to His people from time to time for clear instructions and directives. When God speaks, and the people listen and obey, His word will always come to pass in their lives. It does not matter whether temptations and trials abound, if the word of God is prayerfully and faithfully pursued, it will come to pass for the benefit of the people. It was as a result of God speaking to His only begotten Son in heaven, Jesus Christ, that led to His coming down to earth to die for the sins of the world, and salvation of humanity. Christ faced temptations and trials prior to the commencement of His earthly ministry, but at the end He overcame. The Bible reports in Matthew 4:1-2 saying:“Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. 2: And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward anhungred.” Our Lord Jesus Christ prayerfully committed the work ahead into the hand of God and was fully fortified for the work. The temptation that came to him, after seeking God’s face was easily overcame and that prepared Him for the work ahead. The temptation of Jesus Christ is best understood when contrasted with that of Adam. Adam was tempted in his place as the Lord of creation with the knowledge of good and evil. Through the woman, he was tempted to add that also to his dominion. On falling, he lost all. Our Lord Jesus Christ took the place of a lowly servant only, and in obedience to the Father that He might redeem a fallen race and a creation of divine course. Satan’s one object in the threefold temptation of our Lord Jesus Christ was to reduce Him to act from Himself, independent from the father. The first two temptations were a challenge to Christ from the god of this world to prove Himself, indeed,as the Son of God.
The third was the offer of the usurping prince of the world to divesthimself of that which rightfully belonged to Christ, as son of man and son of David on condition that He accepts the sceptre on Satan’s world principles. Christ defeated the devil by a means open to humblest follower, the intelligent use of the word of God. In his second temptation, Satan also used the scripture, but he cited a promise available only to one on the part of obedience.
Prayer is the power of a Christian and hearing from God is an assurance that the message is from the right source and must come to pass in due time. Prayer is the key to open the gate of heaven and until you hear from God, keep expecting, for He will surely attend to your case if it is in accordance with His will. In God comes the gift of various kinds for the edification of the Church and for the benefit of the brethren. These gifts can only come when we prayerfully call on God and patiently wait for the divine response. Hence, Apostle Paul has this for the brethrenin 1Corinthians12: 7-11: “But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. 8: For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit.9: To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit.10:To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues. 11: But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will.”
God answers prayers at His own time, therefore, whosoever does not exercise patience, to allow God speak to him may not receive anything from God. In whatever we do it is expedient to commit it first into the hand of God and patiently allow God to have His way. During the days of his trial, Job patiently waited for God for his change to come. He bared his mind in Job 14:13-14 saying:“O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me! 14: If aman die, shall he live again? All the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.”
Despite his pathetic health challenges, loss of children and wealth coupled with ill advice from his wife and friends, Job depended faithfully on God, insisting to wait for God’s appointed time for his change to come. His patience and faith paid off because not only that divine healing came, there was double restoration of all the wealth he lost including his children.
Whenever you are faced with challenges of any kind, look up to God, call upon Him in the days of trouble, commit your problems into His hand and patiently wait for His response and He will surely intervene in your case. God is always interested in the affairs of His people; He will not allow His people suffer indefinitely. In whatever ugly situation you find yourself, commit it into the hand of God and wait for His appointed time and He will deliver you in Jesus’ name.
At this juncture, you should understand that God does not answer the prayer of a sinner, so, if you have not surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, do so now before it is too late.
Remember, you are not the owner of your life, God can call any man at anytime. However, it is not His will that any soul should perish, but that all will come to repentance. You are earnestly enjoined to repent now and it shall be well with you.
Testimony Of The Lord’s Doing
Saved From Ritual Killers
PSALM 126:1-2 says: “When the Lord turned again the captivity of Zion, we were like them that dream, then was our mouth filled with laughter and tongue with singing.” The condition of Brother ChineduJoseph resonates with the above scriptures as ritual killers captured him, but God intervened and he was promptly saved.
Listening to his testimony, Brother Chinedu Joseph said:“l worship at Irawo branch of the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries and I thank God for making me a member of this great ministry and granting me genuine salvation.”
After the programmetitled, “From Sorrow To Joy” the next day of it being Monday, I was going to my business place and boarded a bus, a Mazda product, with Lagos State commercial vehicle.
As soon as I entered the commercial bus and the conductor shut the door that was all I knew. I only opened my eyes when the bus door was unlocked.l looked around andrealised that we were in the desert. As I looked ahead, I saw that their previous victims were all naked and in a lined, perhaps awaiting execution. The person directing them was not up to 20 years. Suddenly, they called the first person on the queue and beheaded him; so, they did to the second and third persons.
Seeing this, I wiped my face with both hands and muttered could this be a dream or life? It was when they killed the fourth and fifth persons that I raised my voice to instruct the killer to stop the killing or face what is more than any man. He looked back and asked: “Who said that?” I responded: “ l am! And one of them queried: “Who are you?” And I shouted,“I am a Chosen three times and asked, the ritual killers, ‘who are you, too?’ Then I added, where is the God of my pastor’s power, the hour has come?“Immediately, l made the last statement, they called a man named Champion; he was, indeed, a giant. He came towards me with the intention to yank at me, but when he tried that, God of Chosen, would make me immovable. He tried it thrice without success, then l pushed him away from me with my left hand, and he somersaulted seven times and crashed on the floor. This attracted their second warrior — this time a dwarf. He asked what was happening and one of them explained the details to him.The man told him that I stopped the killing and when he asked, who he was and he said he is a chosen. The dwarf replied that he had told them on different occasions that whenever they mistakenly pick up a Chosen member that they should take them back.
Eventually, the dwarf came to me and began to pet me with good words. The devil is tricky, but God is greater than he is. Quickly, the man pulled a seat for me to sit on; he went inside his apartment and brought out Hollandia yogurt for me to drink. To crown it all, he called a beautiful girl, who was only tying wrapper to seduce and make me commit adultery with her. But with a holy anger,I asked him, if the girl was to be his daughter, if he would give her to a stranger to violate?
With that anger, l told him that his punishment would be that l must go with all the people remaining alive there. They were about eight in number. When I made this demand, the man became angry. He told his colleagues to see what they have caused by bringing a Chosen member and that they are going to would lose billions of naira because of their foolish act.
Then I looked and saw where they packed peoples phones, the height would be more than a storey building; the same goes for clothes. These evidencesshowed that the evil business has been going on for long.
However, when we were about to leave the place, l discovered that all their victims have losttheir senses and l commanded the evilman to restore them. He went inside his hut and brought out a small tortoise, which he touched on their legs and palms and they all regained their senses. On recovering, one of the girls discovered that she was naked and tried to cover herself with her bare hands. I, then, said to myself: “Oh, all this while she didn’t know she was stark naked; devil is very wicked.” l asked the man to produce their clothes, and he directed them to where to go and pick them.
After wearing their clothes, he assigned two men to show us the way out of the bush. As we moved along the bush, we saw an old man who asked me what I was doing in that thick bush and l told him, we entered a ritualist bus, but the God of Chosen has delivered us.
He said this God of Chosen is very great and that I should serve Him very well. He directed us to follow him, which we did and he led us to the main road. P-r-a-i-s-e, the Lord!
When we eventually came out to the main road some of the victims, now freed, began to cry and confess their sins to God. I am grateful to God for this great deliverance. I pray for the G.O. and all Chosen members worldwide. May they all make heaven hereafter in Jesus’ name…amen!
