Romans 14:11-13: “For it is written, as I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. 12: So, then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. 13: Let us not therefore judge one another anymore: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumbling block or an occasion to fall in his brother’s way.”
Accountability is one of the attributes that helps to build trust in people. It ensures that mistakes and excesses are corrected in the future operations. Even in this secular world, a servant gives periodic accounts of his stewardship to his master or leader, either by election or appointment, rendering account to their employers would enable them to know if they are keeping to the mandate of the engagement. Whenever a satisfactory account is rendered it facilitates building strong trust and in some cases resulting in assigning more and higher responsibilities.
God is the creator of all human beings and, therefore, our Father and God; by this,we are to give account of how we have lived our liveson earth. The Bible illustrates the issue of accountability in Luke 19:13-21 saying:“And he called his ten servants, and delivered them ten pounds, and said unto them, occupy till I come.14: But his citizens hated him, and sent a message after him, saying, we will not have this man to reign over us.15: And it came to pass, that when he was returned, having received the kingdom, then he commanded these servants to be called unto him, to whom he had given the money, that he might know how much every man had gained by trading.16: Then came the first, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained ten pounds.17: And he said unto him, well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.18: And the second came, saying, Lord, thy pound hath gained five pounds. 19: And he said likewise to him, be thou also over five cities. And another came, saying Lord, behold, here is thy pound, which I have kept laid up in a napkin: for I feared thee, because thou art an austere man: thou takest up that thou layedst not down, and reapest that thou didst not sore…” The master was full of praises to the servants who used the talents given to them to make profits to the extent of giving them more responsibilities, but rebuked the one who hid his talent.
Even though he returned it, he was ejected from the kingdom to suffer in lack and loneliness. God has given every human being one gift or the other. The gift could be either spiritual or physical or both. The expectation is that whatever one is endowed with should be made manifest to the benefit of mankind. The gift is to help the bearer and the people around him; mankindentirely. You are not expected to allow your gift, whether physical or spiritual to lie dormant; it must be put to proper use.
Apostle Paul in his letter to the church in Ephesus has this to tell them in Ephesians 4:11-13:“And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers.12: For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ. 13: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ.”
Every gift from God is meant to benefit both the church and mankind. God blesses a man for him to be a blessing to people around him. God can give someone the gift of preaching the gospel for soul winning, while another may have the talent of counseling; He can as well endow one with the ability to make wealth with anything one lays his/her hands on, but all are given for the benefit of mankind and for the ministry. It must be developed and brought to full manifestation.
It should be noted that when a talent is not put to proper use, it continues to deteriorate and finally goes into extinction. In the plan of God, no gift is expected to be wasted, therefore, when you are blessed, you are expected to extend your blessing to people around you. Christ came to reclaim the kingdom lost to the devil, He converted disciples to join Him in the reorientation of the mindset of the people of the world against the devil and to create a perfect society. You are, therefore, converted to bring other people to Christ for the salvation of their souls.
You are not to be dormant when the harvest is plenty, crying for labourers.1Corinthians 12:4-12 says:“Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.5: And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. 6: And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God, which worketh all in all. 7: But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal….” God has given diversity of gifts to different people and these talents are for the benefit of mankind according to the needs and for the salvation of souls. Although the gifts are different and are given to various individuals, they are all working for our Lord Jesus Christ for the salvation of souls and for the reclaiming and restoration of the lost kingdom. You are, therefore, expected to work with the talent you are endowed with and to render account of how you have used it to God at the end of this life.
In the life of every believer, there should be no idle moment or wasted opportunity. Any little time must be put into proper use for the ministry, the edification of the church and mankind. You are converted to disciple others, to deliver them from the bondage of sin and prepare them for the rapture of the saints.
Ezekiel 33:1-6 says: “Again the word of the Lordcame unto me, saying. 2: Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, when I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman. 3: If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people. 4: Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head. 5:He heard the sound of the trumpet, and took not warning; his blood shall be upon him. But he that takethwarning shall deliver his soul. 6: But if the watchman see the sword come, and blow not the trumpet, and the people be not warned; if the sword come, and take any person from among them, he is taken away in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at the watchman’s hand.”
Using your talent to evangelise, preach the gospel, is likened to trumpet blowing, giving warning toperishing souls on the dangers ahead of them should they refuse to repent. At this time, the fault will no longer be yours, as you have played your part. Therefore, as long as you live, use your talent to the best of your ability, do the work of God with all your heart,so that at the time of accountability you will be rewarded in Jesus’ name.
Yoke Of Untimely Death Broken, Blessed With A Baby Boy
There is a standing covenant that the General Overseer of the Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries Worldwide, Pastor Lazarus Muoka, has with God; which is no member of his ministry will die earlier than his/her time.
This covenant recently played out in the life of Brother God’s PowerEnem from Bayelsa State branch of the church, who testified how God saved himand his sister fromuntimely death that has ravaged his family.
While testifying, our brother said they were nine children in their family —male and female — but death started claiming them one after the other to the extent that only Brother Enem and his sister are alive. Being the first child, and head of his family, after his father’s death, our brother had to call on God to intervene.
Apart from the untimely death, our brother notedthere werealso foundational forces that hadhindered himfromgetting married at the age of 30 or thereabout.
Born in 1972, and now 52 years, Brother Enem was single at the age of 49 until God intervene and he got married in 2021.
He disclosed thatsomeone invited him to the Lord’s Chosen, where he gave his life to Jesus Christ.
“As I joined the ministry in 2018, the yoke of untimely death was broken, including the foundational forces in my father’s house that have been causing all these problems were uprooted and crushed,” he said.
As the family became free, our brother said he started attending all the church’s programmes.
Brother Enem said: “I attended Mgbidi 2019 Crusade and started presenting my case to God. In 2020, I was again at the programme. I could not go to Lagos in 2021 and other years of Mgbidi Lagos Experience, but by the grace of God, I got married in 2021. The yoke of delay in marriage was broken and God blessed the marriage with a bouncing baby boy. God has actually intervened in my family and in my life by blessing me with a baby boy. I am grateful to Him.
May His name be glorified … Amen!”
