Romans 10:11 “For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on Him SHALL NOT BE ASHAMED.”
There is un-announced warfare going on against the believer. The enemy is employing every strategy to bring the believer into shame and disgrace. God has promised repeatedly in His Holy Word that, those who trust in Him, would not be put to shame. No matter who you are and the level of your walk with God, the enemy wants to cause shame and disgrace. The plot of the enemy is the very antithesis of the promise of God. Joel 2:26 “And ye shall eat in plenty, and be satisfied, and praise the name of the LORD your God that hath dealt wondrously with you: and MY PEOPLE SHALL NEVER BE ASHAMED.” Once, we were with a family who seems to own or have everything going for them but, they have a son whose lifestyle and exuberances were bringing shame to the family.
In another family, it was the husband that was misbehaving and causing shame. Another family had huge debts piling up and could not meet their obligations and commitments. What the enemy does is to bring the comma of shame to a beautiful, grammatical expression. The enemy has a network of “shame producers” who generate high profile shame for those who belong to God. The Word of God is against the operation of the enemy in your life, and they will never succeed.
The Devil who is the Accuser of the brethren, employs our human mistakes, shortcomings, errors, personal challenges to amplify the opportunity for shame and disgrace. We live in a world of deadlines, targets, goals, expectations and aspirations. And when these deadlines are not met, the devil starts celebrating. But thanks be unto God. 2 Corinthians 2:14 “Now thanks be unto God, which ALWAYS CAUSETH US TO TRIUMPH IN CHRIST, and maketh manifest the savour of His knowledge by us in every place.” Shame or disgrace is a spiritual force, which must be dealt with spiritually. JESUS CHRIST our Redeemer was publicly disgraced, despised, rejected, assaulted and went into public ridicule on the behalf of every believer. They spat on Him. He was naked, beaten and scourged for our freedom from shame.
THE CROSS OF JESUS is the balancing equation for nullifying the force of disgrace in our lives. We are to constantly point the enemy to the Old Rugged Cross where our shame, reproach and disgrace were completely dealt with. THE SACRIFICE OF JESUS ON THE CROSS redeems and delivers us from the spirit of shame and disgrace. Every time we apply the Blood of Passover, the Power of the Kingdom of God goes out to work for us. It is instructive to note that, for the Israelites to enter the Promised Land, God had to remove the recurring age-long reproach of Egypt from their lives. To leave Egypt, they were commanded to “OBSERVE PASSOVER,” where the Blood of the Lamb of God, set them free from centuries of slavery and bondage.
After wandering in the wilderness for 40 years, the qualification for entering the Promised Land was for them to “OBSERVE PASSOVER.” The Blood of the Lamb must be applied. They got to a spiritual place called “GILGAL” where the reproach of Egypt, was taken off their lives. Joshua 5:9-10 “And the LORD said unto Joshua, THIS DAY HAVE I ROLLED AWAY THE REPROACH OF EGYPT FROM OFF YOU. Wherefore the name of the place is called GILGAL unto this day; and the children of Israel ENCAMPED IN GILGAL, and KEPT THE PASSOVER on the fourteenth day of the month at even in the plains of Jericho.” The Cross of Jesus is our GILGAL today; where the reproach of Egypt and daily challenges of disgrace are completely obliterated. The Power of the Cross of Jesus is stronger and greater than the plot of the enemy’s attempt to bring us into shame and disgrace. The Power of the Blood of the Cross silences the enemy and the avenger.
No matter who you are, do not forget 2 Corinthians 5:21 “For He hath MADE HIM TO BE SIN FOR US, WHO KNEW NO SIN; that we might be made THE RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN HIM.” You as the righteousness of God in Christ will never enter into condemnation. 1 Peter 2:6 “Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief Corner stone, elect, Precious: and he THAT BELIEVETH ON HIM shall not be CONFOUNDED.” Psalm 34:22 “The LORD redeemeth the soul of His servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.
