Nexascale, Genesys Tech Hub partner to close digital divide

A key player in the tech empowerment space, NexaScale, and Genesys Tech Hub in Enugu are partnering to provide individuals with laptops and a conducive learning environment in a bid to close the digital divide.

This is in furtherance of NexaScale’s strategic partnerships with tech hubs through which it has executed a successful laptop lending initiative for over a year.

This initiative of democratising access to laptops by the firm offers individuals the opportunity to book laptops for academic, professional, or personal development needs, ensuring that no one is left behind due to a lack of access to essential technology.

According to its Year Half Report for 2024, the project has helped 121 individuals book laptops from January to June, enabling users to meet their coursework deadlines, participate in remote job interviews, and engage in online courses and bootcamps.

A beneficiary, who simply identified himself as Emeka, shared his experience, saying: “Thank you Adora for the laptop sharing initiative. Today I was able to work in a conducive environment, with a laptop and free Wi-Fi.”

Beyond Genesys Tech Hub, NexaScale’s vision is expanding rapidly. In Lagos, they have partnered with The Nest Hub, further broadening access to laptops and workspaces for hundreds of Lagosians.

Additionally, the organisation has plans to launch two new tech hub partnerships in the coming months, bringing this invaluable resource to even more communities.

In a statement, the firm noted that with its eyes set on further expansion, it remains dedicated to empowering more individuals by providing them with the necessary tools to succeed.

“The organisation’s efforts are not just about laptops —they are about creating opportunities and fostering an environment where anyone, regardless of their background, can thrive in tech.

“As NexaScale continues to democratise access to technology, they invite organisations, community members, and other tech hubs to join them in this movement, ensuring that technology is accessible to all,” the statement added.
