She says the month of April has been the bloodiest for civilians in the conflict so far, with over 500 people slaughtered in the North Darfur region alone following months of famine. Sudan is facing a continuing spike in violence in the devastating civil war that is now in its third year and has claimed tens of thousands of lives.
