Lagos State Governor Mr. Akinwunmi Ambode has been applauded for deciding to expand and reconstruct the ever-busy Egbe-Ikotun-Isolo road, which had been abandoned and left the people to their fate, by the previous administrations in the state.

For over 10 years, the road had become a death trap to the entire communities living in Alimosho, with population of over six million people, the largest local government in Nigeria.

Making this commendation, while fielding questions from newsmen at his palace during the Eid el-Fitri celebration in Lagos, the Elegbe of Egbeland, Oba Ashimiyu Adebowale Olorunfemi Dada-Otta, said reconstruction of the road would be the best decision to relief the people of the area who spend at least, three to four hours on the road daily.

“It was with great relief to hear the governor make the promise to work on the road that has been neglected by the previous government.

We thank him for the bold move and urge him to fulfill the promise on time to ameliorate the suffering of over six million people that ply the road daily.

“The Egbe-Isolo-Ikotun road is very important to all of us, it will not only boost the commercial activities of the area, but will also enhance the Egbe industrial estate,” he said.
