Ogun State government has assured the State’s public servants that the financial pressure confronting the State is a temporary one which will soon come to an end.

Speaking through the Head of Service, Mrs. Modupe Adekunle in Abeokuta at a briefing to mark this year’s “Public Service Day”, the government pleaded that despite the challenges, the workers should remain focused and be committed to their duties.

Adekunle pledged that the government would improve the welfare packages of the workers, insisting that the government would continue to deliver quality services inspite of the present financial situation in the country.

“These are trying times but with patience, prayers, commitment and sincerity of purpose from all of us, either as political office holders or career officers, I believe we shall overcome,” the Head of Service affirmed.

She added, “The time (to overcome the financial pressure) is nigh, we must, therefore, not lose focus and remember, we have a duty to ourselves and generations yet unborn. In whatever we do, we must do our best.”

She stated that the government is aware of the seven months salaries deductions owed the State workers and promised that the situation will soon be resolved.

Her words, “As you are aware of the present financial situation of the country, the government will make appropriate adjustments where necessary and will not relent in its effort to provide better welfare packages for its workers”.
