Azien wins the maiden edition of BEATDBEATZ

A winner has emerged in the maiden edition of the online talent platform, BEATDBEATZ

The talent hunt came to an end after weeks of selection by a panel of well-known Nigerian music producers using creativity.

According to the organizers, music quality and originality were major tools for selection and also the contest will always comes up twice a year.

Meanwhile, BEATDBEATZ is an online discovery platform initiated by Nelson Jack and award-winning music producer Masterkraft.


The platform aims to give opportunities to up and coming artistes in the music industry.

The contest features instrumental beats from A-list producers Rexxie, Youngjonn, Ozedikus and Benie Macauley.

Nelson Jack said, “We started with fifty finalists in the quarter finals, then we cut them down to sixteen, and today we have just ten, nine males and one female in the grand finale.”

After a two round performances of own composed songs from all the top 10 finalists which include; Gracia, Arred, Azien, Mayowamusic, KingEmpire, LanoRoy, Blinkzbaba, Emque, Dannylone, and Kred.

Azien was announced the winner among the top 3 finalists, defeating Gracia and Arred at the grande finale.

Grand prize for the competition includes a cash prize of $50,000 in total.

Azien said: “I feel happy and great for this opportunity, I never saw this coming, competing against talented folks. Grace selects me out and I feel it’s my time. Fans should expect nothing but the best from me not only as an R&B, Afro-pop singer but as a versatile artiste.”

Nelson Jack continued: “Azien is total package, from his performance, his voice, his style and his energy on stage. Like I said the process was gruesome and we wanted to touch every aspect of show-business and he got tapmax in that process, I want to wish him the best and am thankful to God that he won.”
