The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), has urged the Federal Government to explore Public-Private Partnership for mobilising critical investments towards bridging infrastructural gaps in the Information and Communication Technology sector.

Preparatory to this year’s Information, Communication Technology and Telecommunications (ICTEL) EXPO, President of LCCI, Mrs Nike Akande, identified the role of the sector in deepening innovations needed for sustainable development in the real sector.

The ICTEL EXPO is a specialised annual exhibition of the chamber that discuss current global ICT trends, government policies and offers diverse business and investment opportunities.

According to her, bridging infrastructure gaps and creating favourable policies will provide a conducive environment for ICT business to thrive.

“The ICT sector can contribute more to our national development if needed infrastructure and policies are in place,” she said.

Akande said that ICT drives entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainable business model in Nigeria and beyond with technology-backed service delivery and mobile payment solutions.

She said that 2017 ICTEL EXPO with theme “The Digital Economy: Strategies for growth in a connected world” provides a platform that unites ICT players for greater contribution to national development.

According to her, the ICTEL EXPO will hold from July 25 to 27 in Lagos.

Chairman, Trade Promotion Board, LCCI, Sola Oyetayo, said that the EXPO would explore avenues to unlock potential within the sector towards projecting future growth.

Managing Director, Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System (NIBSS), Adebisi Shonubi, said that ICTEL EXPO was a veritable platform that would provide linkages and opportunities to the depths of talents exhibited by many Nigerian youths.
