NBC recommits to quality products, customers’ safety
Speaking at the company’s mid-year media parley in Lagos, the Legal, Public Affairs and Communications Director, Sade Morgan, said NBC believes in customer satisfaction, and would continue to invest in their wellbeing and enhance their products to meet their target.
She said the health of customers is also a major priority, and has taken measures to produce hygienic beverages for healthy consumption as well as working to reduce waste by using an average of 50 percent recycled content in its bottled drinks by 2030, developing plant-based resins, and reducing the plastics used in packaging.
Morgan reassured that NBC, with about nine production facilities across Nigeria, would continue to invest to ensure sustainable economic growth by boosting education and youth employment, thereby reducing the rate of unemployment, adding that this is key to the realisation of national economic growth and development.
“Youth unemployment rate in the country is high, which is why we are working and coming up with different initiatives aimed at empowering our teeming unemployed youths, as part of our efforts to contribute our own quota to addressing the situation in Nigeria,” she said.
She added that the company would continue to partner with government, agencies, and communities to eradicate poverty and hunger through its corporate social responsibility initiatives across the country.
“We are giving back to the communities we take from by empowering the women, water stewardships, cleaning the environment and providing relief materials to households in the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) camps,” she added.
Also speaking, the Public Affairs and Communication Manager, Coca-Cola Nigeria, Nwamaka Onyemelukwe, urged the media to be objective in their reportage to avoid causing harm to businesses and lives of citizens, and also avoid situations that could hamper the growth of the nation’s economy.
