The Nigerian lotto business last week had a new addition with the entry of Western Lotto from the stable of Western Lotto Nigeria Limited. Determined to change the way lotto business is run in the country, the company is coming into the market with five entertainment and international lottery games.

According to the Managing Director, Mr. Elvis Krovokuca, Western Lotto seeks to create employment opportunities, wealth and empowerment for people in Nigeria and across Africa with the five entertaining games, adding that his organisation is offering lotteries as number-based games of chance that carry much less risk, as patrons spend small sums to win big rewards, unlike gambling where they risk high stakes.

He assured that Western Lotto would similarly devote part of its earnings to corporate social investment in Nigeria.

The five new games introduced are: Powerball, Euro Millions, Euro Jackpot, UK Lotto and Mega Millions. While Powerball is an American lottery game played every Wednesday and Saturday; Euro Millions, Mega Millions, UK Lotto and Euro Jackpot are transnational lotteries also played across Europe. Draws for the Mega Millions hold on Tuesdays and Fridays and players could win as much as N15 million.

Licensed by the Nigerian National Lottery Regulatory Commission to operate terrestrial and online gaming activities, including lotteries, lotto, indoor games, betting and online scratch card games, among others, the company’s boss disclosed that winners in any of the categories would be notified through SMS and emails, while payments would be made via ATM for small cash.

“You can play any of the games in your privacy via USSD, mobile Apps, online, shops and terminals and if you win, we will notify you immediately. However, if you win big you come to our head office in Victoria Island, Lagos, to collect your money or state how you want to be paid, but smaller amount are paid through ATMs or Quick teller,” he said.
