THE All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Organisation (APCPCO) has accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led Federal Government of working extra hours to raise malicious charges against its leaders and suspected financiers using the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in order to force its presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari to “try his own men” in a test of his bid to fight corruption without fear or favour.

EFCC Alerts On Fake Letter Quoted By APCPCO
Nemesis Will Soon Catch Up With Corrupt APC Leaders, Says Fani-Kayode

THE All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Organisation (APCPCO) has accused the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)-led Federal Government of working extra hours to raise malicious charges against its leaders and suspected financiers using the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in order to force its presidential candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari to “try his own men” in a test of his bid to fight corruption without fear or favour.

A statement signed by the APCPCO Media Director, Garba Shehu, alerted that the federal government was planning to take advantage of a vow by Buhari that if elected, he would not investigate the past, but that all ongoing cases, as he said would be allowed to run through the courts without any hindrance.

But the EFCC alerted the public about a letter supposedly from the office of the Chief of Staff to President Goodluck Jonathan, cited by the APCPCO, mandating the commission to initiate discreet investigation against some prominent political figures in the country.

The EFCC, in a statement in Abuja yesterday by its Head, Media & Publicity, Wilson Uwujaren, urged the public to discountenance the said letter, saying it was a forged document intended to mislead the people.

It insisted that the features of the letter were markedly different from that on a genuine letter from the office of the Chief of Staff to the President.
Similarly, Director of Media and Publicity of the PDP Presidential Campaign Organisation (PDPPCO), Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, said nemesis would soon catch up with assured “corrupt leaders” of the APC.

Fani-Kayode spoke against the backdrop of the “forged letter” purportedly signed by the Chief of Staff to the President, Brig-Gen Jones Arogbofa, and referred to by the APC.

According to him: “We have said it before and we shall say it again: the entire leadership of the APC is suffering from paranoia and delusion. “They are hiding under their beds and running from their own shadows.

“This is a clear case of the biblical provisions that say ”there is no peace for the wicked” and that ‘’the wicked run even when no-one is pursuing them.”

Shehu alleged that in what is clearly a mischievous attempt to railroad Buhari to subject his own supporters to trial and conviction, the federal government, in the said letter sent a list of some of the most senior APC leaders, businessmen and company chief executives, with a view to the immediate commencement of investigation and trial against them.

He list those on the list to include former Vice President Atiku Abubakar; Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, his Edo and Kano counterparts, Adams Oshiomhole and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso; Senator Bola Tinubu; and Speaker of the House of Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal.

Others are Senator Danjuma Goje; Senator Bukola Saraki; Faruk Ahmed; Sulaiman Barau; a Deputy Governor of the Central Bank; the MD of the Nigerian Ports Authority, Habib Abdullahi; and the Director General of the NCAA, Mukhtar Usman.

The rest are the managing director of NDIC, Umaru Ibrahim; Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State; Group Executive Director of the NNPC, Aisha Abdulraham; Taraba State APC governorship candidate, Senator Aisha Alhassan; the PDM candidate for Adamawa State governorship election, who was formerly the Executive Secretary of UBEC, Ahmed Modibbo; as well as the former Minister of Education, Prof Ruqqayyatu Ahmed Rufa’i.

The said letter-forwarding the list to the EFCC quoted the Chief of Staff as saying that he had been “directed by the C-in-C (President) to instruct your Agency to clandestinely investigate the personal and official finances” of the listed individuals.

But Fani-Kayode shot back: “These people have lost their peace and they are running even when no one is pursuing them.

“If they are so sure of winning the election and if their hands are clean, why should they be having nightmares about the EFCC?

“The truth is that they are a party struggling with their shady past and the sordid catalogue of horrendous sins and crimes that have been committed by their leaders over the years

“It does not take a letter from the Chief of Staff to the President to the EFCC Chairman to provoke the security agencies to swing into action against them.

“Given the grave, serious and sordid allegations that have been made against most of them over the last few weeks in various television documentaries, the Nigerian people themselves are asking questions and demanding answers.

“As a matter of fact, even Nigeria’s partners and friends in the international community are asking those same questions and demanding answers too.

“When the de facto leader of the APC captures the resources of the whole of Southwestern Nigeria for himself, his cronies and his loved ones; when another turns his state into his personal feudal colony; and when another squanders PTF funds and refuses to show any remorse or contrition for his actions, then you know that trouble is coming.

“The truth is that the chickens are coming home to roost.

“There is no doubt in my mind whatsoever that the APC leaders, including a few of their sitting and former governors, will eventually face the music for their horrendous crimes and atrocities against the Nigerian people.

“They can feel the noose tightening around their necks and consequently they are trembling and squealing like babies.

“Whether they like it or not, nemesis will soon catch up with them and they will answer for their many crimes.

“All the paranoid and absurd press statements in the world and all their nebulous and nonsensical allegations or claims of persecution and Federal Government conspiracies against them cannot stop that.”

“God Himself is against them and sooner than later they shall feel His wrath and taste of the awesome power of His word.”

If these politicians can clone PVCs why should anyone be surprised that they are forging letters. Amaechi forged a letter of an aviation consulting firm to inflate the price of a Jet and it became open when the House of Reps ordered an investigation into the seizure of the aircraft by Ministry of Aviation. These thieves sponsoring Buhari know that their days are numbered.

What is change? The Word “Change” is being used selfishly. Afterall, The PDP has promised to do better if re-elected, this is “change” from good to better. The APC has done nothing, but hopes to “change” the good things the PDP has done if elected to manage the Federal Government. The question is “change” to what? Better or Worse?
