Hospital, foundation give free healthcare services to Delta residents

To breach inequality in the healthcare system, Delta/ American Hospital and Dr. Isioma Okobah Foundation have provided free meditations to hundreds of Igbodo community residents, Ika North East Local Council of Delta State.


Foundation in collaboration with the Delta State Primary Healthcare Development Agency, embarked on a two-day free medical outreach to the people. .
The Founder, Dr Isioma Okoba, said the outreach, which began on Wednesday, gave no fewer than 500 people free treatment daily.

According to her, the yearly free medical outreach started over 20 years ago, to breach inequality in the healthcare system.


She said, “Dr Isioma Foundation has been organizing free medical outreaches for decades.
“I am a practicing medical doctor in Atlanta, so, I have the calling to come back to my father’s hometown and attend to the health of my people.

“So, I have found out that a lot of them suffer from hypertension, diabetes, and others, with that, I decided to start the foundation there where I can equally attend to the rural communities and breach the inequality at that time where really no doctor in the community. two decades ago.

The traditional ruler of Igbodo community, His Royal Majesty, Ikechukwu Osedume called on state government to support philanthropists by way of partnership as it is done in other climes.

Flagging off the free medical outreach, the Executive Director Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr Paul Yinkore, commended Dr Isioma Okoba for making healthcare available to the people.
