Review: A Slice Of Paris In Lagos Art Café

By Beatrice Porbeni 22 October 2017   |   7:00 am

I was in the mood for a good working space that gets my creative juices flowing and I found just the place!
Located at 282 Akin Olugbade St, Victoria Island, Lagos, Art Café is a savvy French-inspired café, which seems to have captured my creative spirit. If you’re looking for a place to have a full-on
pasta or rice meal, then this probably isn’t your spot. But if you’re just looking for a great breakfast or a warm filling bread, croissant or sandwich meal, then you’ll feel right at home!

Mayo chicken curry sandwich (white baguette)
This meal is essentially baguette bread stuffed with mayo chicken curry, with some fries to go and it was absolutely yummy! It really tasted like a homey sandwich meal because the curry chicken was quite tasty. I never imagined eating a baguette without cheese or tomatoes and ham, but this combo really did the trick for me, plus it was more filling than I had imagined.

Love in a jar
So my love for good lemonade took me to one of the best lemonade spots in Lagos! Just the right amount of sweet and sour with some ice to water down the sugar and it was super refreshing! I even had two jars because I was already halfway gone just before my food arrived.

Verdict
I definitely foreshadow going back to the café in the near future, particularly to try out their breakfast. The best part about the place is the ambiance with it’s décor and artworks, most of which are actually for sale and give the spot a unique vibe. The music isn’t too loud or disturbing and if you wanted a more talkative vibe, you can move right outside for some shisha and cocktails!

Price list
Fresh lemonade: 2500
Mayo chicken curry Sandwich: 4500
