Former Minister of Education, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili, yesterday, in Ibadan, said Nigerians are ready to use their Permanent Voter Cards (PVC) as Red Card for the two leading political parties in the country— the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ezekwesili, who spoke at the launching of the Southwest regional chapter of Red Card Movement, called on Nigerians not to vote for PDP and APC candidates in 2019 elections, because they have both failed the integrity test.

She said the movement was ready to give Nigerians a credible alternative to President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019, stressing that both PDP and APC have been given Red Card by the good citizens of Nigeria, because they have contributed immensely to the failure of the system.

She said: “Nigerians are tired of bad leadership, which the nation has been experiencing since independence, and that is the reason we are giving Red Card to the political class.

When credible leaders begin to govern our local government councils, states and federal government, Nigeria will become the most productive country in the world. Nigeria will become the most competitive country in the world.

Ezekwesili said no government that delivers on good governance would be given Red Card by its citizens.

“We are sensitising our people that their PVC is their Red Card. They must use it to scrutinise the qualities they desire on the Election Day, because they cause 99 percent of the problems we have. As for those coming on board, their character, competence and capability must not be in doubt.
