Abducted chief executive of Edo zoo regains freedom

After 21 days in captivity, the Managing Director of Ogba Zoo and Nature Park in Benin City, Edo State, Andy Ehanire has regained his freedom.

Ehanire was abducted on September 24 after his abductors had killed three policemen providing security for fun-seekers at the facility.

It was gathered that he was released on Saturday night at about 10: 30pm somewhere around Warri in Delta State.

The spokesperson for the zoo, Victor Ogba, who confirmed the development, said his boss was hale and hearty.

The State Police spokesman, DSP Moses Nkombe also confirmed the release, saying he had since be reunited with his family.

“He was released at about 22:30p.m. on Saturday near Warri, Delta State. No ransom was paid,” the police image-maker stated.
