ABU alumni donate to Pacelli School

The Alumni Association of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Lagos Chapter at the weekend donated food items and toiletries to the Pacelli School for the Blind and Partially-Sighted in Lagos.

The Alumni Association of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Lagos Chapter at the weekend donated food items and toiletries to the Pacelli School for the Blind and Partially-Sighted in Lagos.

The visit was led by the Chairman of the association, Mrs. Justina Aladi Ahmadu, who is also the Comptroller of Immigration, Lagos State Command.

Principal of the school, Rev. Sister. Jane Onyeneri, who expressed gratitude and joy for the kind gesture, said: “I feel great and happy that ABU alumni have identified with us. They have come to visit us. There are no better words to use than to say: “May God bless you all’’.

While also thanking the Lagos State governor for donating a coastal bus to the school, Onyeneri appealed to all well -meaning Nigerians to assist in curbing flood in the premises, especially during rainy season.

She urged others to borrow a leaf from ABU alumni by assisting the school, noting that the 140 children living in the hostels needed theeveryone’s support.

Ahmadu, who stressed the need for humanitarian services to the less-privileged and physically-challenged persons, said: “We must love them. I call on all and sundry to join hands in putting smiles on the faces of the downtrodden.”

Vice Chairman and Legal Adviser of the association, Mr. Demola Oladipo, who is also the Dean, Students’ Affairs, Yaba College of Technology, and Lateef Abdulsalam, said giving back to the society should be a priority to everyone. This is one of the things ABU built and developed in us: to put humanity first, which we have done today.
