Add value to society, Awosika tasks women

Chairman, First Bank of Nigeria, Mrs Ibukun Awosika, has tasked women to achieve their potential, strive to be their best to add value to the society.

Delivering the keynote address at the Flourish Africa Conference, she said, “Our calling is different, you need to stay true to your calling, be committed to whatever you are meant to do. As a woman, you need to seek to understand who you are because you are the driver of your life. Make a choice to be an asset that adds value, gain knowledge, make sure you are not missing, and truly give the country everything.”

She thanked founder and convener of Flourish Africa, Mrs Folorunsho Alakija for the event, urging participants to influence other people around them.

In her remarks, Vice Chairman of Channels Media Group, Mrs. Olasola Momoh said, “If you want to succeed learn to speak the language you are interested in, act locally, think globally, make use of your brain and not just beauty. Be determined to plan ahead, build on integrity and focus on your vision.”

Alakija on her part said, “Flourish Africa is an idea that was conceived to create a community that helps and encourage women to thrive in all aspects of their lives. It is designed to create a platform for both female and others alike to have access to information that will help them grow in all areas of their lives, career, lifestyle, family, relationship and others.”
