The Bishop of Diocese of Lagos and Dean Emeritus of the Church of Nigeria (Anglican Communion) the Most Rev. Ephraim Adebola Ademowo has called on Nigerians and those in authority to be consistent and straight forward, eschewing chameleonic tendencies that make it impossible to take people by their words.

Speaking at the end of the 1st Session of the 33rd Synod of the Diocese of Lagos at the Tafawa Balewa Square Lagos, under the theme, The Marks of the Church, Ademobo berated the attitude of people, especially leaders, who make empty promises, which makes it impossible to hold them by their words.

He urged leaders to know that God Himself placed them at their various positions to sacrifice in the course of performing their duties of taking care of the people He committed unto them and not to lord over them, while feeding fat at the expense of poor masses.

Adebowo, however, expressed satisfaction over President Mohammadu Buhari’s attitude of laying good example on how to make sacrifice by cutting down his salary and choosing not to be extravagant.
