Customers of Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, AEDC, in the Federal Capital Territory, Niger, Kogi and Nassarawa States can now buy their power tokens using Remita.

This disclosure was made to ensure that customers of the power firm enjoy improved and convenient payment options for the electricity they consume. It is also in line with AEDC’s commitment to guarantee that its customers can pay their bills round-the-clock, anywhere – even from the comfort of their homes and offices.

Using Remita, AEDC customers can pay directly from their bank accounts in any bank or with their debit/credit card. They can also pay using any of the payment channels available on Remita, including their internet banking platform, PoS terminals, mobile wallets and standing order.

Speaking on the experience of purchasing his electricity token with Remita, a customer of the power company in Abuja, Danjuma Usman said, “It was a very easy experience. I am excited at using Remita to settle power bills and would certainly keep using them. All I did was to enter my details on the platform and instantly my token was delivered to me.”

“For over a decade, we have collaborated with various stakeholders across diverse industries to extend the frontiers of payments to millions of individuals and businesses. We are glad to be delivering this convenience to the customers of Abuja Electricity Distribution Company,” said David Okeme, Chief Commercial Officer of SystemSpecs, developers of Remita.

Remita is an electronic payment solution that helps individuals and businesses to receive and make payment easily, through multiple channels and across diverse financial institutions.

Abuja Electricity Distribution Company is one of the eleven power distribution companies successfully privatised and handed over to new investors in 2013.
