Agoro asks National Assembly Clerk to publish lawmakers facing corruption charges

The National Chairman and former presidential candidate of the National Action Council (NAC), Dr. Olapade Agoro, has petitioned the Clerk of the National Assembly to make public names of all lawmakers facing corruption charges.

The National Chairman and former presidential candidate of the National Action Council (NAC), Dr. Olapade Agoro, has petitioned the Clerk of the National Assembly to make public names of all lawmakers facing corruption charges.He gave the Clerk seven days to publish the names of affected members of the Senate and House of Representatives in three national newspapers.

In a letter dated February 7, 2018, a copy of which was made available to The Guardian in Ibadan, Agoro also urged all lawmakers indicted for corruption to vacate their seats within seven days.

The elder statesman, who threatened a legal action against the Clerk if he did not comply with his request, said lawmakers facing corruption charges are not fit to seat in the hallowed chambers until they clear their names of allegation.
