On Saturday, February 13, design and luxury enthusiasts were treated to Valentine inspired open house day-party tagged #AlaraLovesYou, organised by ALARA, an eclectic luxury store in Victoria Island, Lagos.

The concept store hosted a select few to an afternoon of Valentine installations, high fashion, and complimentary-themed treats. For many guests, it was an opportunity to browse from a carefully curated display of objects of African and international origin, whilst they shared their delight at the memorable afternoon.

The quintessentially Lagos crowd was a mix of artists and high society, all savouring the stunning views of the David Adjaye designed retail boutique. Special guest, DJ Obi, played on the ‘in-store’ decks while guests explored the multi-level design gallery amid socialising with each other.

Glass after glass of the luxury champagne, Veuve Clicquot was served and perfectly paired with innovative cuisine by NOK, ALARA’s fine dining restaurant, which served savoury skewers, Valentine confectionery with more inspired fare.

ALARA is Pan-Africa contemporary luxury store. There constantly evolving, unique creative space houses a host of international and local brands and designers. It celebrates and nurtures rare creative talent which they source from all corners of the globe.

As supporters of African innovation and design, ALARA seeks to elevate the next generation of master craftsmen in fashion, art and design from countries such as Nigerian, Cote d’Ivoire, Ethiopia, and South Africa.

In addition to sourcing from these global artisans, the brand showcases customised designs by collaborating with designers and allows its partners to create high-quality, exceptional products that promote style and innovation.
