Determined to make Abuja metropolis clean, the Abuja Metropolitan Management Council (AMMC) has demolished all illegal mechanic workshops, food joints, roadblock and filth in Jabi motor park, Abuja.

AMMC officials yesterday sent bulldozers, caterpillars, towing vans, tippers and shovels to clean up dirty areas around the popular Jabi park and Utakoin Abuja City.

The Council Coordinator, Umar Shuiabu, led a team, which included the departments of Development Control, Abuja Environmental Protection Board (AEPB), Parks and Recreation, and security operatives drawn from the army, police, Civil Defence, immigration and NDLEA.

Shuiabu said the area has become notorious for hoodlums and street hawkers who indulge in nefarious activities such as drug peddling and crimes, which was now causing discomfort and nuisance to those living around the area.
