Amosun urges nurturing of democracy

Federalism, as being practised by the country at present is “fraudulent” and that has been part of the country’s problem, Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun lamented yesterday.

Amosun who spoke at a lecture, organised by the state chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), in Abeokuta as part of activities to mark Democracy Day on Sunday however assured that whatever pains they are passing through now will be a thing of the past soon.

The Governor pleaded with Nigerians to collectively support and nurture the country’s democracy, saying the system was the best for the country.

Nigeria’s democracy, he said might not be perfect but it behooved everybody to assist in nurturing it to maturity.
